Checks, money orders, or bank checks are the only acceptable form of payment. Separate checks/money orders must be written for your Jessup Borough and Valley View School District taxes. Checks/money orders should be made payable to Jessup Tax Collector. There is a $30.00 fee for NSF checks.
Payments can be made by visiting the Tax Office in person or by mailing your check(s) to:

If the Tax Office is closed, you can leave your payment in the lock box at the rear door of the Borough Building or on the Tax Office door and a receipt will be mailed to you.

All property owners in Jessup Borough will receive 3 tax bills per year:
1. The Lackawanna County Real Estate Tax Bills: These are sent from the county in January of each year and should be paid to Lackawanna County. The 2026 millage rate is 5.79. The tax bill is discounted 2% if paid by April 15th. If not paid by April 15th, the face amount applies until June 30th. After June 30th a 10% penalty is applied. 2. Jessup Borough Real Estate Tax Bills: These are sent out on March 1st of each year and should be made payable to the Jessup Tax Collector. The 2026 millage rate is 1.81. The tax bill is discounted 2% is paid by April 30th. If not paid by April 30th, the face amount applies until June 30th. After June 30th a 10% penalty is applied.
3. Valley View School District Tax Bills: These are sent out on August 1st of each year and should be made payable to the Jessup Tax Collector. The 2026 millage has not been determined at this time - we will update this page when the rate has been announced. The tax bill is discounted 2% is paid by September 30th. If not paid by September 30th, the face amount applies until November 1st. After November 1st a 10% penalty is applied.
If a bank or mortgage company pays your taxes then it is the property owner's responsibility to send their tax bill to their bank or mortgage company.
All taxes that are not paid by December 31st are turned over to the Lackawanna Tax Claim Bureau located at
123 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton, PA 18503. They can reached by phone at (570) 963-6734.
All delinquent taxes must be paid to the Lackawanna Tax Claim Bureau.

Certifications and duplicate tax bill requests must be made by mail to the Jessup Tax Office. Please include a $20.00 check for any requested certifications and a $10.00 check for any requested duplicates along with your formal request. Please make any checks payable to Genevieve Lupini, c/o 395 Lane Street, Jessup, PA 18434.
